Jeanneau 51 from 1990, is not a boat, I can promise that, with oversized deck equipment, won and rigging, this is like a tank at sea. Yes, the hull is of course Kevlar reinforced, and in my lifetime I have not come across a single one of these boats with hull problems such as osmosis/plastic plague, of course not on this one either :)
The hull design of course is the "king" of the designer, Bruce Farr, who is the epitome of a fast boat. In combination with the boat's strength and characteristics, I would say that this is the perfect long-distance boat for those who need some space.
This is an "owners version" or owner version if you will, with a large master cabin in front that contains its own washroom and an en suite shower room.
Standard aft cabins, spacious identical with huge cupboards and storage space, and both aft cabins comfortably seat 2, also have their own toilets and shower rooms.
There was a bit about layout, which I hope the images also give a decent impression of. Hmm the photos, yes, spontaneously taken today Feb. 5, 2024. I had other plans for the boat, and these went down the drain yesterday, enough about that, I hurry to advertise while I'm in the boat and can have video calls with those interested, so there wasn't time for "pimping" the boat before the pictures were taken, but at least they're honest, and I'll be when I'm going to unfold the full history and condition for you :)
Location, history and known errors/omissions:
The boat is located in the Caribbean, on Bequia in the heart of the Grenadines and close to St. Vincent, Tobago Keys, Mustique, Union Island, Mayrau, to name but a few island paradises in this that can be called the "tenderloin" of the Caribbean. Everything is just a few hours sailing away. Those who have followed us over the years remember that we were based here a few years :) You prefer to fly from London, via Barbados and to St Vincent, the neighbouring island/main island of the Grenadines.
History:
The boat was bought by an American, and has been US registered (IMO 0725085-041723) for many years before it was bought by a Norwegian owner 12 years ago, sold again to a new Norwegian owner, both of these are acquaintances of mine, and I am then the 3 Norwegian owner. I have a lot of boats, so for me it's just to help a friend that I bought the boat, to get a trip to the Caribbean and sell it. When I bought the boat before Christmas, it had been lying for 3-4 years on a buoy on the island of Grenada, north of Trinidad. We started washing and fishing, as the boat hadn't seen people for several years. Now there is again a working boat, although ropes that have not been pulled and washed are slow as few... We winched the mainsail both up and down at the start, but it's a little easier now :) :)
Deficiencies and errors:
It should be no secret that I know about used sailboats. I've been doing sailing and sailboats full-time for 30 years, so when it comes to describing the condition of a boat, you can take my word for it. As can be seen from the pictures, the boat is in several places ready for a cosmetic upgrade such as sanding and new paint. Applies to doors and other interiors, but far from everything. Much is still neat and well-kept.
Originally, there was a teak deck on this boat, and it was screwed down in the deck. Last owner has removed this, sealed screw holes and added a nonskid sole to the deck. It looks okay, but adding flexi teak/past teak had raised the boat a lot. It should be mentioned that the core material of the tyre, i.e. the one that is laminated between the fiberglass itself "the roof" and the deck, this is BALSA, and it is in combination with a screwed teak deck, like asking for future problems.
A "failure" could be felt in the deck, in a smaller area amidships on both sides, and it is the balsa core itself that has dropped attachment with the two sides fiberglass, i.e. a delamination. OK, you're going to have to be a little pro to notice, but I'm a bit of a pro :) This has no practical significance, or anything they notice on the boat's characteristics or safety. It's also not a complicated fix and opening up adding new kernel, but it does have to be mentioned.
Otherwise, winches, deck equipment, standing rigging (Running rigging needs washing and rinse aid) are in very good shape, as you can see if you zoom in on terminals and choir parts.

Raymarine wind sensor and instrument. Works great.
Raymarine tridata, log, depth, speed (for speed through the water, the wheel under the boat must be cleaned of shit)
VHF Standard Horizon with DSC/distress. Works top
SSB Icom IC-M 700 Pro shortwave radio for worldwide communication. Didn't test it.
Raymarine c90w chartplotter. Works properly, but display is a bit bad. There is a fridge and freezer, but we only use the fridge now. Works great. Princess quality oven. LED lighting
There is long current co-charger, solar cells, wind generator, new batteries 2 weeks ago.
